Machinarium and Amanita Design have been nominated for the Milthon European Games Awards!

Thanks to everyone who bought the game, no matter if it was during the sale or before, no matter if you pirated it before or not. The sale has gone so well that we have decided to extend it for a few more days and also reveal some stats. You can pick up Machinarium for just $5 until Monday Aug 16th, then it will return to it’s regular price of $20.

We released the game DRM free which means it doesn’t include any anti-piracy protection, therefore the game doesn’t bother players with any serial codes or online authentication, but it’s also very easy to copy it. Our estimate from the feedback is that only 5-15% of Machinarium players actually paid for the game. If you decide to buy the game, you can be sure you’ll support directly the developers, not any big publisher or distributor.

The fature film Kuky se vrací (Kooky) has also it’s book version written by Jan Svěrák (the director of the original film) and illustrated by Jakub Dvorský (the designer of the puppets and props of the film). Official book launch was on Thursday June 10 and it’s available in every bookstore in Czech Republic and for ordering. Also English version is in the works and should be available later this year in the form of classic paper book and e-book.

Jára Plachý, the animator of speech bubbles in Machinarium, won the 1st price at the animation film festival Anifilm in Trebon with his music video Nunovó tango for Czech band DVA. You can watch more short movies from Jára Plachý at his Youtube channel.

PC Gamer announced their Game Of The Year Awards! in March issue (sorry it’s not very hot news), you can read the whole issue online. Machinarium picked up Best Soundtrack award.
